Contactless access control solutions are here to stay. Due to COVID-19 implications, people are now looking for not only the most secure way of protecting their business premises but the most hygienic way, too.

Innovate technology is rapidly increasing, we are having to find new ways of working and the most efficient way of ensuring our security systems are safe and secure.

You may be wondering what type of access control system you should invest in now, that will also be effective in a post-coronavirus world.

Biometric technology scanners are the ultimate in identification security. When we think of biometric security, we normally think of fingerprint readers, however, these obviously require touching a screen.

At Vistec Systems Ltd, we’re experts in access control. In our latest blog we outline the differences between fingerprint recognition and facial recognition readers and the benefits of each for your business premises:

Fingerprint Recognition: Suprema BioEntry W2

An extremely popular access control system throughout offices, gyms, schools, hospitals, and various other business premises; the Suprema BioEntry W2 is an efficient and cost-effective solution to your security.

As well as fingerprint recognition, BioEntry W2 supports most types of RFID cards, providing you with that all-important contactless option for access. This is becoming another viable option in the current pandemic as the user’s card doesn’t have to touch the reader.

Suprema BioEntry W2 features the latest fingerprint algorithm, coupled with powerful quad-core CPU and LFD (live finger detection) technology.

Situated within robust vandal-resistant housing, it is a perfect access control solution for a tough, outdoor environment. The IP67 structure provides superior protection against moisture, dust, and even liquids.

You can also register up to a huge 500,000 users. So is a great option if you need to give access to a large number of people or if you need the flexibility to be able to add users as you grow.

Facial Recognition: Suprema Facestation FSF2

If you’ve previously only ever relied on keypads for your business’ access control, then facial recognition then may feel like a huge leap.

However, with the latest robust and intelligent Suprema Facestation FSF2, it may actually be a more long-lasting and cost-effective solution.

The Facestation FSF2 operates to the highest level of accuracy by the fusion matching of infrared with visual facial recognition. It boasts a remarkable false acceptance rate of just 1 in 10 billion. This is obviously much more reliable than using a key card, for example, that could potentially be cloned or stolen.

This system can even detect whether you’re wearing a mask or not, and so will ensure that no authorised personnel is able to enter your premises without one on for improved hygiene and safety measures.

It also offers a wide range of other authenticating options including face, mobile access, fingerprint, and cards.

The Suprema Facestation FSF2 is simple to install, and also combines with thermal cameras to identify any users with an increased body temperature.

You can register fewer people than you can with the BioEntry W2. With a limit of up to 100,000 people for fingerprint recognition, and 50,000 for facial recognition.

Our Choice

Looking to a post-COVID-19 world, at Vistec Systems Ltd, we believe that the investment in a facial recognition system now is one that will be cost-effective in the long run.

This contactless solution offers new standards in business safety and hygiene that will provide you with complete confidence as we move into a new way of working.
